Sports Massage

Sports massage uses varying pressure, generally more intense than conventional massage to help boost an athletes recovery time. Often clients will use a sports massage to reduce the potential for injury. I believe that regular massage should be an integral part of any serious athletes training plan.

Holistic Massage

The holistic massage is for the "whole" body and is designed to make you feel relaxed by soothing muscles and improving circulation. The movements of a holistic massage are good for breaking up the knots in muscle and relieving tension.

JBC Sports Therapy has been running for eight years offering mobile treatments. But now, with a new Treatment and Therapy Centre at St Francis House, Queens Road, Norwich I can offer a more relaxing environment for my clients. The new centre is ideally placed for lunchtime or after work treatments, as well as evening appointments when required.

As a member of the Federation of Holistic Therapists, and having been elected to the International Council of Health, Fitness and Sports Therapists, I value the need for a personal touch; so each treatment I offer will be different, as it is tailored to meet the individual requirements of each client.

I am currently working alongside sports players from Norwich City Hockey club, Norwich Union Running Club and Norwich Rugby Club. A number of my clients have just run in the Virgin London Marathon, I assisted them in staving off the injuries and in alleviating the aches and pains that came with the intensive training. I have been invited to attend the 2010 London Marathon by the Federation of Holistic Therapists (one of only seven therapist invited from this organisation) to assist runners with injuries and post marathon sports massage.

I was an England trialist for hockey and have played representative standard in rugby, cricket and football, so I have experience from both sides of the couch. I was disappointed when my competitive sporting career was ended by a badly fractured Talus in April 2003.

My own experience from within a sporting background means that I understand the importance of maintaining your body in optimum condition. I also understand the frustration that comes with injury and the associated time away from your chosen sport. However, I can offer the correct help to enable rehabilitation times to be shortened and pain lessened.

Really skilled masseur, made me feel at ease and released some significant muscular issues without causing me unnecessary pain. Very highly recommended.
